BLÅKLÄDER REACHES NEARLY 100% BETTER COTTON

The global Better Cotton Initiative, BCI, ensures that the most vulnerable workers within the textile value chain experience an improved livelihood and a safer working environment. Furthermore, cotton sourced under the BCI guidelines emphasizes reduced water usage, carbon dioxide emissions, and chemicals. Therefore, Blåkläder has gradually expanded its use of BCI-sourced cotton and is now proud to announce an achievement of nearly 100% sourcing through the Better Cotton mass balance system.

BLÅKLÄDER WORKWEAR OPENS NEW HYPER-MODERN SHOE FACTORY IN SRI LANKA

In 2020, Swedish Blåkläder Workwear unveiled an entirely new line of orthopedic safety footwear which immediately became a huge success. However, Blåkläder has been wanting to gather all knowledge and knowhow about safety footwear inhouse and thereby achieve full control over the production down to the smallest details. Therefore, Blåkläder has chosen to insource the entire production in a completely new Sri Lankan Blåkläder-factory dedicated to safety footwear.

BLÅKLÄDER EXPANDS DEAL WITH JYSK

Throughout a number of years, 1,000 employees in JYSK’s Danish distribution centres have been wearing workwear from Blåkläder. Now, this agreement has been expanded significantly to also include Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary and Germany which brings the total number of JYSK-clad distribution centres up to eight across Europe.

BLÅKLÄDER EXPANDS HEAD OFFICE

Blåkläder, one of Europe’s largest producers of workwear, continues to invest heavily. Recently, the ground was broken on the total 7,400 square meters of expansion of the company’s head office in Svenljunga, an investment estimated to land at around SEK 100 million.
